A significant proportion of individuals state that nowadays, primary schools concentrate much more on formal learning than they did in the past. I am completely in favor of this statement. In my opinion, it is of paramount significance for children to play as well as study in the classroom.
First and foremost, in childhood, the brain goes through the early stages of development. Children should be allowed to play in the classroom rather than only study due to the fact that they can easily learn through playing. For instance, in order to teach them the English alphabet, the best way would be to provide toys that are in alphabetical order. This results in better learning for them, and they will not take the learning for granted. In fact, they will feel relaxed, and additionally, they will enjoy learning instead of being frustrated.
Furthermore, if primary schools focus more on formal learning, it can affect the learning abilities of students. They can do formal learning during middle school. It is the time when they are capable of doing and understanding things in a better way. Moreover, it is crucial for learners to play as it will help them in understanding. In addition to this, activities – in other words, creativity – play a vital role in brain development. They learn easily through activities.
To reiterate, I would like to conclude that children should feel free to study. From my perspective, primary schooling should be informal. It should be easy enough to understand, and primary schools should provide students with some sort of activities that can help them focus.
