A friend from another country is coming to Canada for the first time. Your friend will spend one week in July in Halifax, where you live, and has asked you for advice about the trip.
Write an email to your friend in about 150-200 words. Your email should do the following things:
– Suggest places to visit and things to do in Halifax
– Give advice about what to pack and how to get around
– Tell your friend how you plan to spend time together
Dear Jason,
I hope this email finds you in excellent health. I am thrilled to learn that you will be visiting Halifax after two years, and I cannot wait to see you at the airport!
I have already planned several exciting activities for your visit. We can explore the beautiful Halifax Waterfront and visit a science museum, knowing how fascinated you are by technology. I am sure you will enjoy discovering these places. We can also go sightseeing and explore other local attractions.
Since winters here can be exceptionally harsh, I would recommend packing plenty of warm clothing. A pair of long boots and a warm overcoat will be essential to keep you comfortable. Do not worry about transportation, as we can use my Toyota sedan to explore the city, which will be much more economical than taking taxis.
Most importantly, I am looking forward to reliving the wonderful memories we created at George Brown College. Meeting you there was one of the best experiences of my college life. We will also go on shopping sprees and enjoy exciting evenings at your favourite club.
I cannot wait to catch up with you!
Yours truly,
Elis
