Don’t worry—we have got you covered.
Starting 22nd February 2025, pencils will no longer be used in the IELTS test in the pencil-and-paper mode. Instead, you will be given a black ballpoint pen to mark your answers in all four modules. Writing the answers in the listening and reading will be in capital letters or block letters; in the writing test also it will be done using a pen when you write tasks one and two.
Points you must know
- You cannot take your pen. The center will give you the pen.
- This is not applicable in the case of computer-delivered tests and IELTS UKVI.
- The changes are done to make the handwriting more legible to the reader or the examiner and for precision.
- Reduced errors while writing as it will avoid erasing and cutting multiple times.
- Practice writing with the help of a pen and avoid scribbling.
