Do you know about the recent changes in the IELTS test in 2025?

Starting 22nd February 2025, pencils will no longer be used in the IELTS test in the pencil-and-paper mode. Instead, you will be given a black ballpoint pen to mark your answers in all four modules. Writing the answers in the listening and reading will be in capital letters or block letters; in the writing test also it will be done using a pen when you write tasks one and two.

Points you must know

1. You cannot take your pen. The center will give you the pen.
2. This is not applicable in the case of computer-delivered tests and IELTS UKVI.
3. The changes are done to make the handwriting more legible to the reader or the examiner and for precision.
4. Reduced errors while writing as it will avoid erasing and cutting multiple times.
5. Practice writing with the help of a pen and avoid scribbling.
