Band 7.5 Response
The given map illustrates the current layout of an industrial area in the city of Norbiton, along with proposals for its future redevelopment.
Overall, it is clearly visible that the planned changes will transform the Norbiton industrial area into a residential one. Furthermore, the significant changes include replacing factories with houses and introducing playgrounds and schools.
Firstly, the site currently contains several factories concentrated around the roundabout, with a road leading south towards the town. Agricultural land lies to the north of the river.
The proposed development is expected to bring about significant changes, including the demolition and replacement of most factories with housing, as well as the addition of new accommodation on both sides of the roads. To the northeast of the bigger roundabout, a playground will be added to facilitate children’s indulgence in sports activities, in addition to this to the east. The path that connects two roundabouts will have a healthcare centre and a retail outlet. Farmland to the north remains in its place, and a new bridge is constructed over the river to provide easy access to new homes.
